Review Influenster TLC VoxBox

Hey Y'all!!  I am so sorry I'm a bit late reviewing this box from Influenster.  It came while I was having my health issues...but I have it for you today!  Since I'm a bit late, I'm going to include everything in one post :)

So Influenster sent me the TLC VoxBox, which is described as a box for all the mothers, and it is!  The box included:  Neosporin Neo To Go, Ivory Bar Soap, Puffs To Go, Shell Fuel Rewards Network Card, Avon Anew Reversalist Express Wrinkle Smoother and Breyers Gelato Indulgences.  So let's get started!

First up is Neosporin Neo To Go ($4.97 to $7.50):
If you're a Mom, or clumsy person, or athlete, you are familiar with Neosporin.  It is an anstiseptic pain relief ointment that has always come in tube in a gel form.  My ballerina loves the stuff, especially the pain relief part.  Neosporin has been a part of our household since she was born, altough I've never been a fan of having to touch the's always felt greasy.  But now Neosporin has come out with Neo To Go, a convenient no touch spray!  I love this idea!  Sadly though, mine didn't work :(  I am going to buy it for the teen though and I will update y'all on how it works then.

Next is Ivory Bar Soap ($3.99 for a 10 pack):
Ok, I have to tell you, this product led to some pretty funny conversations in my daughter has never used a bar of soap!  Yep!  Fourteen years old and never used a bar of soap.  That led Mr. Glitteryfingers and I to explain how, while growin up, we hated bar soap.  We told her about how the entire family shared one bar of soap to shower; how the soap never really dried and instead just got all goopy as it seemed to melt; and how soap always left a film on your skin.  Suffice it to say she was horrified.  That's when I handed her the Ivory Soap and made her use it!  LOL

As it turns out, we all liked it.  While we all felt like it left a slight film on our skin, once we were dry, our skin felt soft and didn't feel coated with anything.  It is a very mild soap with no dyes or heavy perfumes.  And on a side note, it hasn't become a melted mush in our shower!

Next in the box was Puffs To Go ($0.49 per pack):

I don't have a picture, but y'all know what these look like, the small packet of tissues in a plastic pouch.  These were very handy and held up well in my purse.  These also had lotion in them making them very soft.

The VoxBox also included a Shell Fuel Rewards Network Card (free):
Ok, if you have read my blog for any length of time, you know I live out in the middle of no where, literally.  I live in a very rural area and there isn't much around here.  We do have one ( shell station in the town and it's actually pretty close to me, only about 10 miles.  This card allows you to save 3 cents per gallon, which is nice.  The reward part works like this, you earn points by buying specially marked items in the Shell store, car washes, dining at certain restaurants and shopping on their on-line mall.  As you earn points, you earn money off of the price of gas, up to 75 cents per gallon!  If you are interested, click here for more information.

Also in the VoxBox was Avon Anew Reversalist Express Wrinkle Smoother ($30):
First, I'm a sucker for great packaging, and Avon did a wonderful job with this product!  The compact has a mirror finish.  Seriously. You can use it as a mirror:
It was really hard to photograph.  Then, the lid slides back:
Isn't that fabulous?  Just be careful when opening it, I stabbed I with my nail.  And the best part?  IT WORKS!!!  Seriously!!  Instantly blurs your wrinkles!   Did it get rid of all my lines?  No.  But it definitely improved them!  I have to be honest, I'm so amazed this works.  I have tried SO many products that promise results and I've been let down time and time again.  Avon is my new hero.  Just one bit of warning.  It's recommended to put this over your make-up (it has a matte effect) or over your moisturizer.  I recommend putting it over both.  There is a slight burn/tingle when you first use it.  If you've ever used a product with retinol, you know what I mean.

I can not recommend this product enough!!!

Last, but SO not least, I received a coupon for a free Breyers Gelato Indulgences ($4.49 to $5.99):
Let me start by saying, I LOVE the commercials for this stuff!  The Mom & Dad hiding in the kitchen from the kid, eating it in the dark.  You are not a real Mom until you have hidden in the closet sneaking a candy bar!  And yep, I've done that!  Sorry, not sorry ;) That being said we did share with the kid.

Breyers Gelato Indulgences comes in four flavors:  Vanilla Caramel, Triple Chocolate, Tiramisu and Raspberry Cheesecake. We chose Vanilla Caramel.
Holy Moley!!  This stuff was phenomenal!!  So rich!  So creamy! Just so dang good!!!  My one and only regret with this is that I didn't hide in the closet and eat the whole thing by myself! Sharing stinks!  So Moms, wives, any, don't walk to your nearest store, buy this, rush home and hide in your closet and enjoy a few moments of Paradise!!

I hope you enjoyed today's post!  Have a fabulous day!!

TIOT: Sally Hansen Triple Shine Hypnautical

Hey Y'all!!  Happy Tuesday!  I have a quick post for you today...the teen has to read "A Midsummer's Night Dream" for school and I need to help her.  Does that bring back high school English classes for everyone? LOL  Are they good memories or bad ones?

Anyway, it's Try It On Tuesday, and I have a polish that I won with my Polish Mavens, Sally Hansen Triple Shine Hypnautical:
I know I say this a lot, but seriously, photos do not do this polish justice!  It's gorgeous!  Hypnautical is a light turquoise jelly base with turquoise iridescent flakies and blue micro glitter.  Photos show two coats, with top coat, over China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise (neon turquoise shimmer).
I wish I could have gotten a picture of this polish in the sun, but as luck would have it, we had 4 straight days of clouds.  But it was beautiful on the nail...the iridescence sparkled with every move of my hand.

The formula was good.  It seems with any flakie the polish tends to be thick and that was the case with Hypnautical, but it wasn't too hard to work with.  I'm only sad that I put it over a turquoise base.  I will be trying this over other colors soon!

Have a wonderful day and Happy Polishing!

Pink & Bronze Fan Brush Design

Hey Y'all!!  Happy Monday!  I hope you had a good weekend.  We didn't do much which was a nice change.  We caught up on our "America's Got Talent" that show!  And just spent time loving on our fur babies and each other.  Plus I spent time trying to teach my 90+ pound fur baby that she can't do the same things as the 9 pound fur baby.  In other words, no Tillie, you can't run across the room and jump in Mommy's are going to squish Mommy!  But I do make that fun sound when she lands on me and all the air rushes out of my body...she likes that sound.

I do have a new design for you today...I think I've finally figured out how to do a Fan Brush design:
I Used:
Studio M- Hot Zone (neon pink with blue shimmer)
Orly- Hot Tropics (neon magenta with a gold shimmer)
Sinful Colors- Gold Medal (antique gold/bronze gold metallic)
Fan Brush
I started this manicure with two coats of Studio M Hot Zone, a gorgeous neon pink with a blue shimmer.  Next comes the fan brush.  This takes practice, at least for me, lol.  Put a little polish on a piece of paper (or foil, or paper plate) and dip your fan brush into the polish.  Then dab the excess polish off.  You want to remove the majority. Then, just run the fan brush vertically across the nail.  Start on one side, then start on the other side of the nail.
You may have to go over the nail several times to get the look you want.  I also went over the nails with the base color, using the fan brush, to make it stand out more.  Once you get the look you want, top off with top coat.

I hope you enjoyed today's mani!  Happy Polishing!!

Summer Water Marble (Neon Orange & Purple)

Hey Y'all!!  TGIF!!!  A bit early.  The teen has a show tomorrow and I'm going to run a bunch of errands before, so I thought I would post this a little early :)

For today, I have a Neon Orange and Purple Water Marble perfect for Summer:
I Used:
Orly- Scattered (dark purple neon)
Orly- Tropical Pop (bright orange/peach neon)

For my tutorial on water marbling, CLICK HERE!!

I really love how this turned out!  Be sure to work extra quickly whenever you use neons in water marbles.  The polishes always dry fast in the water, but the neons dry super fast!

I hope you enjoyed today's post, and that you have a wonderful Friday!  Happy Polishing!!

A Pink, Purple & Turquoise Summer Dotticure

Hey Y'all!!  Happy Thursday!  How is your day going?  Mine is ok...the teen is off to dance camp...yes again.  And I've declared war on the ants in the yard.  Seriously.  I hate ants!  If you live in the South, you understand.  We have a ton of varieties and they all bite.  So I've been roaming our property with a concoction I found on the internet guaranteed to end their miserable little lives!  These things have built hills over 12 inches tall and over 18 inches wide, in just a couple of days...they must go!

But I did find time to bring y'all a new post, a pretty Summer Dotticure:
I Used:
Orly:  Hot Tropics (neon magenta/purple with gold shimmer)
Studio M- Hot Zone (neon pink with blue shimmer)
Salon Perfect- Gone Sailing (neon turquoise shimmer)
Large and Small Dotting tool
Since I've done similar manicures recently, I won't go into the how-to-do-this (just look back a couple of designs for the tutorial).  I will say that I LOVED this color combination!  Very girly while still so bright!  I'm going to have to try this color combination in some other designs!
I hope y'all enjoyed today's design!  Have a fabulous day and Happy Polishing!!

Ombre, Gradient and Stripes

Hey Y 'all!!  Happy Hump-Day!  I hope y'all are having a fabulous day.  I feel better today.  Yesterday stunk, I had a headache that just would not go away!  But 11 1/2 hours of sleep cured that!  I can't believe I slept that long.  But now, at least I feel better!  And I have a new post for you!

For today I have an Ombre/Gradient and Stripe design for you:
I Used:
China Glaze- White on White (white crème)
China Glaze- Pelican Gray (pale gray with a silver shimmer)
China Glaze- Silver Lining (clear base with small silver glitter)
China Glaze- Black Diamond (shimmery black)
Striping Tape
Make Up Sponges
I love how this mani turned out, but I have to say doing the stripes was a pain in the butt.  That's why two nails are gradients.
For the stripes I placed the striping tape diagonally then painted the colors in the order listed in the "I Used" section.  The ombre was also done diagonally.

I hope y'all enjoyed today's design!   Happy Polishing!

Red, White & Blue Dry Marble

Morning Y'all!!  How have you been?  I've really missed you!  Not to be too personal, but I've had some issues the last few weeks, health wise, blog wise, and I just couldn't keep up the blog.  And, I just needed a vacation.  And while many of the issues are still going on, I feel well enough to start back up.

And the first design I have for you is a Red, White & Blue Dry Marble.  I know I'm a bit late for the 4th of July, but I always think red, white & blue is good for the whole month of July.  When I think of July's color, I always think of those colors.  You know, like December is Winter White, May is  You don't think of what color each month is?  Just me?  Ok then...  Here's my dry marble design:

I Used:
Sinful Colors- Snow Me White (white crème)
Finger Paints- Surf's Up (blue shimmer)
Finger Paints- Be My Baby (red shimmer with slight pink undertones)
Detail Brush
So this is my first successful dry marble, and I learned what I was doing wrong on every other attempt.  To start this mani, I painted my index finger with one coat of Finger Paints Be My Baby; my middle finger with one coat of Finger Paints Surf's Up; and the rest with Sinful Colors Snow Me White.  Let that dry completely.
For the rest of the mani you need to work one nail at a time.  Paint the second coat of your base color.  While it's still wet, place a couple of drops of the other two colors on the nail.  For me, bigger drops worked better. If they are too small, they will mix into a new color.  Then taking a fine brush, swirl through the colors :)  I did a kind of zig zag pattern, alternating side to side, top to bottom.
Then, let it dry and add top coat.

Hope y'all enjoyed today's mani.  Happy Polishing!!

RedThumb2Stop & Neon Dry Brush

Hey Y'all!!  Wow!  I've missed y'all!  I had a crappy week, in first-world terms  We had a bad storm come through and lightening hit our house...again!  They say lightening won't strike the same place twice, but "they" lie.  This is the second time it's hit our house and the second time it took out our tv and internet.  Our poor tv can't take another hit.  Finally everything is working again...and now I'm sick.  Ugh, fun.

So today's post was supposed to be up last week.  It was supposed to be part of the #RedThumb2Stop campaign.  A quick recap:  the #RedThumb2Stop campaign is to remind us all to not text and drive.  So here is my Neon Dry Brush mani with red thumbs:
I Used:
Sinful Colors- Snow Me White (white crème)
OPI- Innie Minnie Mighty Bow (red shimmer)
Zoya- Charisma (neon purple)
Finger Paints- Pink Perspective (super bright pink neon)
Nina Ultra Pro- Blue Blaze (bright blue neon)
I love the dry brush technique.  It's super easy to do and doesn't require any tools.  I started this look with two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White.  Once that was dry, I started layering on the neon.  All you do is use the brush that comes with the polish.  Just wipe off as much of the polish as possible (using the neck of the bottle to scrape off the polish).  The brush may even look like there isn't anything on it, but trust me, there's plenty.  Then just randomly wipe the brush across your nails.  I started with Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze, then Zoya Charisma and finally, Finger Paints Pink Perspective.
Once you get the look you want, top with top coat.

I hope you enjoy today's post!  Happy Polishing!!

TIOT: Studio M Sunrise Canyon

Hey Y'all!!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope y'all are having a fabulous day!  I'm having a relaxing day.  The teen is at dance camp and without her, my fur babies are all quiet.  So I'm having a great, quiet day.

And I have an incredible polish for you today! Thanks to the wonderful Liz at A Mani Maniac, whom I ADORE!!!!  who gave me this polish:

Isn't this AH-MAZING???  Studio M Sunrise Canyon is a brown leaning peach, sandy linear holographic polish.  The photos show two coats with top coat!  Yes!  A linear holo that you can top with top coat!  Because of that, I was able to wear this polish for three days, which is about the longest I wear a polish.

This holo is just too gorgeous for words!  It even shows the linear holo inside, under regular lights!
Love, love, LOVE this polish!!!  And the name is perfect!  It really does make me think of a Desert Sunrise.  Sadly, it can only be found in a certain store in Michigan :'(  Luckily, I have an incredible friend that lives in Michigan!  Thank you again Liz!!  Love you!!

And love to everyone reading this!  Your support means the world to me!  Have a fabulous day and Happy Polishing!!

Red Thumb 2 Stop Campaign...and Pirates!

Hey Y'all!!  The fabulous Beauty-Shoes-Nails-Fun has organized the RedThumb2Stop Campaign!  We've all taken the pledge to stop texting, using social media, checking email, taking photos and talking on our phones while we are driving!
While I'm not guilty of most of this, I do talk on my phone while driving, a lot.  And checking my notifications at red lights.  But that's over!  I, along with all the fabulous bloggers below, have agreed to stop.  And the Red Thumb 2 Stop is helping with that.  While we continue to bring you our regular manis and nail art, we are painting our thumbs red!  The idea being that the red, which should not match the rest of the mani, will remind us to STOP!  It acts like a stop sign.

So here is my first contribution, a Pirate mani:
I Used:
OPI- Amazon, Amazoff (dark teal crème)
Sinful Colors- Embers Only (red jelly with silver glitter)
Konad- Black
Vivid Lacquer Stamping Plate- VL 023
Love these two polishes!  OPI Amazon, Amazoff is a beautiful, dark teal crème.  The pictures show two coats with top coat.  The formula was perfect, as most of OPI's polishes are.
Sinful Colors Embers Only is shown with three coats and top coat.  The formula was great.  I used three coats to make sure there wasn't any visible nail line, but you could get away with two.  While I liked Embers Only, I wish there was more glitter.

Anyway, we would love it if you joined us!!  You can do that a couple of ways.  Post a picture of your mani, with red thumbs, to Instagram with the hashtag: #RedThumb2Stop.  Or you can post a picture of your mani to either my facebook page or email it to me (at and I will post it for you.

Hope y'all enjoy today's post!  Happy Polishing!!

Just Some Gorgeous Polish Studio M & Darling Diva

Hey Y'all!  I've missed you!  I've been miserable the last couple of days.  Not to be gross, but I have stomach ulcers.  Over 60.  Fortunately they are shallow and are healing, but when they get irritated, I'm in agony.  Which is how I've been the past couple of days :(

So this post was supposed to be my TIOT, but since I didn't get it posted, it's now a post about some gorgeous polish!  I have two polishes for you today, Studio M Lovin' It and Darling Diva And A Bag of Chips:
Oh. My. Goodness!!  These are so gorgeous in person and I just loved them!!!

Sadly, I forgot to get any pictures of Lovin' It by itself.  Which is a huge shame because it's gorgeous!!  Studio M is a neon orange with a blue shimmer and it's amazing!  The formula was perfect!  I applied two coats and it went on perfectly!  There was no balding or streaking.  And a HUGE THANK YOU to my darlin' Liz of A Mani Maniac for the fabulous gift!!  LOVE YOU LIZ!!!

The second polish it Darling Diva, And A Bag Of Chips that I won in a giveaway hosted by Darling Diva.  This is an amazing top coat polish!!!  It's a GITD (glow in the dark) milky top coat with micro glitters that shift from blue to a magenta-ish purple!  Yep!!  GITD AND shifting glitters!  Now, this was my first attempt at capturing a glow in the dark polish, so be nice, but here ya' go:
And A Bag Of Chips was amazing!!!!  And it drove my camera insane.  Does it look like hundreds of little lights on my nails?  Cause that's what it looked like in person!
LOVED THIS!!  The formula was amazing!  The pictures show one (yep, just one) coat of And A Bag Of Chips!  No issues with this polish at all.  Darling Diva has a shop on Etsy, just click here, and she's currently out of this polish :(  We need to beg her to make more...I need back ups!!  Of both polishes!!
I hope y'all enjoy these polishes as much as I did!  I think it's nap time then time to catch up on all my fabulous friends' blogs!  Have a fabulous day!  And, of course, Happy Polishing!!

Summer Neon Water Marble

Hey Y'all!!  Happy Monday!  Did you have a good weekend?  We did!  We went our 65+ miles to get the teen new pointe shoes.  And of course, since it was so far, we had to have lunch.  We went to Pappadeaux!!! I can't begin to tell you how much I LOVE that place!  They have the absolute best alligator in the world!  And this one had a BUFFET!  Ate myself sick and I'm not even ashamed!  The rest of the weekend was spent Spring cleaning and catching up on America's Got Talent.

Today I have a fun Summer Neon Water Marble for you:
I Used:
China Glaze- White on White (white crème)
Orly- Ablaze (neon orange with a micro gold shimmer)
Orly- Neon Heat (bright neon pink crème)
Studio M- Neon Greenlight (bright neon green)

For my water marble tutorial, just CLICK HERE!!!

I painted two coats of China Glaze White on White as a base.  Then I used it and the other three polishes in the water marble.  I added the white in the water marble to make the neons really pop.

I really love this mani. And I think it works great for Spring into Summer time!

I hope y'all have a fabulous day!!  And Happy Polishing!!
