Mish Mash Challenge: Cold

Hi Y'all!!!  Happy Hump Day!!!  I have to take the now-a-teen to an oral surgeon a long way from home, so I'm gonna get right to the post!  Today's Mish Mash Challenge theme is cold.  I actually had a hard time with this!  Back in December, 2012, I did a post of Mr. Heat Miser & Mr. Snow Miser and I couldn't think of anything else.  I really liked the icicles I did and that is what my brain got stuck on :(

Finally, I decided to go simply:
I Used:
Sinful Colors- Snow Me White (white crème)
Color Club- no name (very light blue shimmer)
OPI- Last Friday Night (blue jelly base with AB small glitters)

On three nails I used this pretty, shimmery light blue Color Club (sorry, I tried looking it up) that reminded me of frost.  Then on my middle and ring fingers, I painted two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White.  Once that dried, I painted two coats of OPI Last Friday Night, a pale blue jelly with aurora borealis glitters.  That really made me think of frosty or snowy mornings.
So that's it for Cold!  Be sure to check out the wonderful ladies below.  There are some AMAZING manis going on today!!  Happy Polishing!!!

Snowflakes- 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

Hi Everyone!!  Today is the 7th day of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge.  Today's prompt was snowflakes.  I really love how this manicure turned out.  Here's the finished product:
I Used:
Orly- Halley's Comet (shimmery blue)
Orly- White Tops (white creme)
Liner Brush
Dotting Tool
Rhinestones

I started with two coats of Orly Halley's Comet.  I absolutely love, love this color!  To me it screams winter (unless it's Spring, then it screams Spring, unless it's Summer, then it screams...well you get the idea).  Halley's Comet is beautiful on its own, but made a perfect base for this challenge.

Then using a liner brush (be sure to look up brushes on my tip page) and Orly White Tops, I painted random snowflakes on my nails.  To make the snowflakes, I just painted intersecting lines.  Using a medium dotting tool, I added a few dots to some of the snowflakes and made random dots to represent snow.  Then I painted a pretty thick coat of my Pro-FX top coat and placed rhinestones in the middle of some of the snowflakes.

I hope y'all enjoy this manicure and be sure to check out all the fabulous designs by the other bloggers!!  This is the sweetest bunch of people and I know you will love their designs.  Happy Polishing!!

Holiday Gradient (Hanakkuh or Christmas)

Good morning Everyone!!  Did you have a fabulous weekend and/or holiday??  I think I gained 10 pounds over Thanksgiving!  Who's bright idea was it to have cheesecake at Thanksgiving??  Not to mention the gravy, mashed potatoes and rolls...ugh!! Well, at least it was all delicious!  But I missed y'all! And I missed doing my nails every other day.  But I'm back now and have a fabulous Holiday manicure for you.
I Used:
China Glaze- Frostbite (bright metallic blue)
Sinful Colors- Heavy Metal (sparkly silver)
Make Up Sponges

There are three ways to do a gradient, or ombre, nail design.  The first is to select a color, and paint each nail a different shade of that color on each nail.  The second is to paint the polish on a sponge and dab it on your nails (I have one like that coming up, I will put the link here when it's done).  And the last way is the way I did this manicure (see tutorial here).

I love how this manicure turned out!  It reminds me of winter, Christmas, Hanukkah, the first snow...just everything to do with this time of year!  I hope y'all enjoy it too!!  Happy Polishing!!
