Hey Y'all!! So as you may know, I'm not much of a pastel, flower kind of gal. But occasionally, I am. That's what happened today. I saw a painting and was inspired to try this Spring Flower mani.
I Used:
KBShimmer: Shore Thing, a medium minty green crème
Color Club: Disco's Not Dead, butter yellow crème
Color Club: Wicker Park, pinkish lilac crème
Finger Paints: Sea Temptress, textured white polish with teal flakies
Liner Brush
I started this mani with two coats of KBShimmer, a pretty pastel mint crème that was a dream to use. Then using Color Club Disco's Not Dead and Wicker Park, I painted splotches in random areas of my nails. Then I made my mistake. I ramdomly topped some of the splotches with Finger Paints Sea Temptress. If you recreate this, do not use a textured polish. Seriously. It's really hard to paint a straight line over a textured polish! And the flakies didn't even show up!
Then I used a basic black polish (sorry, I forgot which) and a fine liner brush to paint the petals. The petals were basically parentheses. And in some of the flowers, I painted little dots for the seeds. Then just top everything with a top coat.
Other than the bad lines over the flakies, I really liked this design. I hope you do too!
Happy Polishing!!

Spring Plastic Wrap
Hey Y'all! How was your weekend? Let me live vicariously through you, cause I didn't do anything but sleep. The weather was so messed up here, freezing cold, thunder storms, now it's sunny. I just hibernated waiting for it to all pass. I'm so done with the cold. So despite the 20 degree weather, I decided to do a Spring mani for you.
Today's mani is a Spring design using plastic wrap:
I Used:
China Glaze: Five Rules, a soft barely there gray crème
Sinful Colors: Pink Smart, a pastel pink crème
China Glaze: My Way Or The Highway, a turquoise crème
Plastic Wrap
This is one of my favorite types of manis to do because I think you get such a great effect for such a little amount of effort. I started with two coats of China Glaze Five Rules, a soft, light gray crème. Once that dried completely, I put a couple of drops of China Glaze My Way Or The Highway on to a piece of paper. Then using regular plastic wrap, scrunch the wrap up and dab into the polish. Be sure to dab it on to a piece of paper first to get off any excess polish. Then just dab it onto your nails.
Then I repeated the process with Sinful Colors Pink Smart, a soft pastel pink crème. Then just top off your design with a top coat!
I hope you enjoyed today's design! Happy Polishing!!

Pastel Gradient
Hey Y'all!! Have you ever had one of those days that no matter how hard you try you just can't get anything accomplished? If yes, then welcome to my Wednesday! The teen spent the night at a friend's house so I thought, yay, I'll get a ton done! Nope. Didn't get one thing done. Started a bunch of stuff, but didn't finish the first thing. Except this post. Which is going up late. Dang.
Oh well. I do have a fun twist on gradient nails for you today, a four colored square gradient:
I Used:
Sinful Colors- Snow Me White (white crème)
Sinful Colors- Unicorn (pastel yellow crème)
Sinful Colors- Cream Soda (pastel peach crème)
China Glaze- At Vase Value (pastel mint crème)
China Glaze- Lotus Begin (pastel lilac crème)
Make Up Sponge
I started with two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White to help the pastels show up more. Then, after wetting and wringing out a cheap make up sponge (from the dollar store), I painted the pastels in a square pattern on the sponge:
Then I just sponged them on to the nails in an up and down motion. It took three coats to get the colors to where I wanted them.
Don't forget to top with top coat.
Hope y'all enjoyed today's post! I'm going to give up on doing anything useful for the day and veg in front of the tv! Happy Polishing!!

Spring Reciprocal Gradient Tutorial
Hey Y'all!! Happy last day of Winter!! Finally!! So, I've decided to continue my rebellion against
Winter with another Hurry Up Spring nail art design! This may seem complicated as there are a few more steps than normal, but it doesn't take long and is so worth it! So here is my Spring Reciprocal Gradient:
I Used:
China Glaze- White on White (white crème)
Sinful Colors- Unicorn (pale yellow crème)
Sinful Colors-Cream Soda (pastel peach crème)
Sinful Colors- Cotton Candy (pastel pink crème)
Sinful Colors- Mad About Hue (lilac crème)
Make Up Sponges
Scotch Tape
Start this Spring mani with two coats of white, I used China Glaze White on White. I started with a white base coat to make sure the colors pop.
Next, paint thin lines of nail polish on a damp make up sponge. Make sure that the lines are about the same length as your nails. The order of colors is: yellow, peach, pink and purple:
I made the yellow and peach a little thicker since the colors are so light. Then dab the colors on your nails. Remember to move the sponge around a little to make sure the colors blend. This will require two coats, but they dry fast.
Once that has dried, place scotch tape on both sides of your nails making a vertical stripe. I painted the stripe white, again to make sure the colors show. Then repeat the sponging going the opposite way:
This takes two coats too. Immediately remove the tape after the second coat. Top your design with top coat and you're done!
I hope y'all enjoyed today's nail art! Have a fabulous day and Happy Polishing!!

Peach Dry Brush Nail Art & Tutorial
Hey Y'all!! Well here we go, Spring in Georgia! 77 degrees yesterday, 65 and windy today, 28 tomorrow night. It's amazing we don't all have pneumonia! But, I'm ignoring the weather again and have another Spring mani for you using the dry brush technique:
I Used:
Barielle- Pillow Talk (nude, pink leaning crème)
Sinful Colors- Cream Soda (pastel peach crème)
Sinful Colors- Sunburnt (bright peach/salmon crème)
Zoya- Dhara (orange glass fleck textured polish)
To start this mani, paint your nails with two coats of the lightest color, in this case, Barielle Pillow Talk:
Then you're going to use each color, going from lightest to darkest, the same way. I used Sinful Colors Cream Soda first. Using the brush that came with the polish, scrape off as much as the polish as you can. You want the brush as dry as possible (he he, hence the name). Be careful of all the polish between the brush and the cap dripping down. Then, starting at the tip of your nail, brush towards the cuticle:
Be sure to go only 3/4 of the way. Just lift the brush as you go. Then use the next color. In this case, Sinful Colors Sunburnt. This time going only 1/2 the way up the nail.
Then use the last color, Zoya Dhara, only going 1/4 of the way up your nail. Use this color to wrap your nails. And yes! Everyone, natural and acrylic ladies, need to wrap their nails!!
Be sure to protect your work with a good top coat!!
I really love this look. It gives your nails so much detail and interest and it's so easy to do!
Hope y'all enjoyed today's nail art and tutorial! Have a fabulous Wednesday and Happy Polishing!!

Review Sinful Colors: Spring, '13 Collection Part II
Hi Everyone!! I'm so excited! I have the rest of the review for you today plus some neat and super easy nail art (next post). Also, be sure you like my facebook page...I have a bunch of friends that are having some fabulous giveaways and I'm posting the links on my page :)
Now, onto the Sinful Colors collection. All of the following polishes were fantastic. The formulas were great, though a bit on the thin side. So I strongly recommend three coats for each. Other than that, they worked great and were long wearing.
First up, Sweet Nothing:
This is a darker blue than yesterday's Sugar Rush. Not much darker, but there is a difference. The photos show two coats with top coat...and why I suggest three coats for all of these. You can see it's a little streaky, but in real life it looked fine and even. Dang camera picks up everything!
This is Cotton Candy:
A very pretty, soft pink that is perfect for Spring. This just screams cherry blossoms to me.
This was a tad thick. The above photos show two coats with top coat. Even though it was on the thick side, it settled nicely and didn't streak or pull.
Next is Sweet Tooth:
This is such a pretty lilac. It is on the thin side and took three coats to hide my nail line. The pictures show three coats with top coat.
And last, but least is Sugar n Spice:
Can I just say I LOVE this color!!!! It's a gorgeous, bright hot pink. The pictures show three coats with top coat.
So there you have the 8 Sinful Colors Spring Collection!! They are really pretty and will be so perfect for the Spring. Besides, at $1.99 a bottle, you can't go wrong! These were all bought at Walgreens during one of their frequent sales, so they were $0.99 a bottle. Sinful Colors are carried at Walgreens and Rite Aid and are frequently on sale. They can also be found at Walmart where they are never on sale...at least not at mine, ha ha.
Be sure to check back later for the super easy, but big impact nail art! Until then, Happy Polishing!!

Review: Sinful Colors Spring '13 Collection Part I
Hello y'all!! Woo-hoo!! It's Thursday! That means the weekend is very close. Do y'all have any plans for the weekend? How's the weather where y'all are? It's supposed to be cold and windy here in the south. And I do realize many of you are snowed in and thinking a weekend with a high of 40 would be great, but that's so not me. Hurry up 70's and 80's!!
I whine because I have Sinful Colors Spring 2013 Collection, Sugar Rush, for you today. Or at least the first half. And tomorrow I'll have the other half. This collection is beautiful!! And it has me longing for the sun, sandals flirty little dresses!
First up is Orange Cream:
This is three coats with a top coat. All the polishes required three coats, otherwise they were a little streaky. This was the only one that was thick and pulled some when painting my nails. Just make sure that each coat is completely dry before starting the next coat and you will be fine. Otherwise, this is a pretty, pastel peach that is just perfect for Spring.
Next is Sugar Rush:
This is a beautiful Robin's egg blue. Above is three coats with a top coat. Sugar Rush had a perfect formula, maybe a little on the thin side. Because of this I would suggest three coats to avoid any streaking. Here it is in the sun:
Please forgive the bubble, it's from my top coat not the polish. I loved this one, such a pretty pastel blue!!
Next is Candy Coated:
This three coats with a top coat. This is such a perfect, pastel lilac. This was my favorite of the entire collection. Big surprise, huh? Dionne likes the purple best, lol! But it really was so pretty on. The formula was perfect (again, the bubble is in my top coat not the polish). And now the outdoor picture:
This is Unicorn:
This is such a beautiful, pale yellow. I didn't really think I was going to like this, yellow being my least favorite color, but I really liked this. This is three coats with top coat. To me this polish just screams Spring. Outside:
While I was buying these, I saw this turquoise glitter that I just had to have!! It's Sinful Colors Lush Life. This is one coat over Unicorn:
Isn't it fabulous?
Sinful Colors can be found at Walgreens, Walmart and Rite Aid for $1.99 each. Hope y'all liked these and I will have the rest of the collection for you tomorrow. Have a fabulous day y'all!! Happy Polishing!!
