TIOT: Studio M Sunrise Canyon

Hey Y'all!!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope y'all are having a fabulous day!  I'm having a relaxing day.  The teen is at dance camp and without her, my fur babies are all quiet.  So I'm having a great, quiet day. 

And I have an incredible polish for you today! Thanks to the wonderful Liz at A Mani Maniac, whom I ADORE!!!!  who gave me this polish:

Isn't this AH-MAZING???  Studio M Sunrise Canyon is a brown leaning peach, sandy linear holographic polish.  The photos show two coats with top coat!  Yes!  A linear holo that you can top with top coat!  Because of that, I was able to wear this polish for three days, which is about the longest I wear a polish.

This holo is just too gorgeous for words!  It even shows the linear holo inside, under regular lights!

Love, love, LOVE this polish!!!  And the name is perfect!  It really does make me think of a Desert Sunrise.  Sadly, it can only be found in a certain store in Michigan :'(  Luckily, I have an incredible friend that lives in Michigan!  Thank you again Liz!!  Love you!!

TIOT: Formula X Vaporize

Hey Y'all!!  I hope this gets posted today, we're in for some really rough weather today and tomorrow.  What fun, especially as this is the day we are out all day/  Plus the teen has company rehearsals tonight until late.  I was looking at the weather channel and yep, the worse weather is expected to be while we are out.  Fun....NOT!  Anyway, it's time for TIOT!

So for this Try It On Tuesday, I have Formula X Vaporize:

So, I fell in love with this the second I saw it.  I had to have it!  But I will say it started a debate (that's a nice word for argument) in my house, with me on one side and the Teen and Hubby on the other.  I think this is a gorgeous, glass fleck, shimmery white, while the other two said it was a light silver. 

What do y'all think?  White or silver?

Well, even if I can't tell what color it is, it's beautiful!  The formula was a dream.  It went on perfectly without streaking which is rare with this type and color of polish.  Pictures show two coats with top coat.

Formula X for Sephora can be found at Sephora stores or on their web site.  Vaporize was $12.50.

This is a new favorite of mine!  And I predict you're going to see a lot this summer!  Happy Polishing!!

TIOT: Sinful Colors Get It on

Hey Y'all!!  It's Try It On Tuesday!!  And I have a fun one today, Sinful Colors Get It On:

I've had this one so long, I don't even remember when I got it. 

Get It On is a gorgeous fuchsia matte polish.  It is highly pigmented, bold formula that worked wonderfully.  Photos show two coats without top coat.  There was no streaking or balding.

And believe it or not (believe it!), no staining!  The formula worked wonderfully and wore really well!

I just love this color!!  And for $1.99, it's a steal!

TIOT: Lakme Mauve Mobile

Gift

Hey Y'all!!  How are you today?  I survived Monday, but I'm fighting getting sick.   I always get bronchitis around this time of year, thanks to my allergies, except last year when I went straight to pneumonia.  I really don't have time to be sick, so I'm swallowing vitamin C and Echinacea like candy!  Any other suggestions are welcome!

But on to today's Try It On Tuesday!   I have Lakme Mauve Mobile for you, another gift from my fabulous cousin when she went to India:

It's so funny, my cousin and our husband's were sitting at dinner trying to figure out what color this is.  It's a mauve-ish, brick red-ish, brown-ish crème.  Photos show two coats with top coat.

Whatever color this is, I love it!  It's very pretty on.  And the formula was wonderful.  There was a little streaking but the second coat evened everything out.

TIOT: Wet-n-Wild Stand The Test Of Lime

Hi Y'all!!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope you are having a warm and sunny day, cause I'm sure not!!  But, as long as it's cold, the pollen swarm won't start!

For today's Try It On Tuesday, I have a polish that I've had forever, Wet-n-Wild Stand The Test Of Time:

This was released as part of their "Pop" collection and for some reason I didn't buy it until it had been out for a while.

Pictures show three coats with top coat.  This went on really well.  There was some streaking which is why I painted three coats.  But the dry time on this was really fast.  Stand The Test Of Lime is a great light green that is just perfect for Spring and Summer.

I like it better out in the sun, but as y'all know, I'm partial to bright colors.  And though I don't think this is in anyway the color of a lime, I really like it.  I think y'all will see this a lot in the coming months!

TIOT: Sparitual Strength Diamond Shimmer

Hey Y'all!!  How are you?  If you're in the US, have you adjusted to Daylight Savings Time?  I think my computer has.  At least it's loading today's post!  I on the other hand am having a harder time getting use to it.  But I do love how it stays light longer.  And it means warm weather is on the way.  It's 77 here today...of course it will be 28 on Thursday so it's short lived :(  And I hate going to the bathroom in public in the winter!!  As though the stalls aren't small enough I have to wrestle a big coat too!!!  Not happy!

Ok, enough complaining. On to Try It On Tuesday!  Today I have Sparitual Strength Diamond Shimmer:

Strength Diamond Shimmer is a medium dusty rose with a gold, almost glass fleck shimmer.

Look at that sparkle in the sun!!  It's beyond gorgeous, and sparkled like mad!

Pictures show two coats with top coat. The formula was good.  I didn't have any trouble with streaking or balding.  The only real issue I had was it took a little longer to dry than normal, but it wasn't a real long time.

While Sparitual is sold all over, like in Ulta, I bought this at TJ Maxx for just $3.99.  And I have to say, I'm pretty happy with it!

TIOT: Zoya Payton

Hey Y'all!!  It's Try It On Tuesday!!!  And, surprise, surprise...I actually have it up on a Tuesday!!

This week's TIOT is Zoya Payton:

Payton is from Zoya's 2013 Holiday Collection.  It's a gorgeous plum purple with scattered micro holographic glitter.

Seriously!  What took me so long to try this??

Pictures show two coats with top coat.  The formula was fantastic.  There was nice, even coverage, no balding or streaking.

Purple?  Glitter?  Perfect!!!  I bought this from the Zoya website when they had their buy 3 for $12 shipping and handling.  It's still available for $9.

TIOT: Revlon French Roast

Hey Y'all!!  Ok, I know it's actually Wednesday, not Tuesday, and I'm really sorry I'm late with this post.  But I was soooo incredibly tired yesterday!  Seriously, I couldn't stay awake.  And I still had to play taxi driver to the teen.  So for those few hours I was actually home.  I slept.  I'm sorry, I'm not sorry :p

So I have my Try It On Tuesday for you today :)  It's Revlon French Roast:

I was so excited when I found this!  I found it at Big Lots for $1.50 and thought it was gorgeous; a milk chocolate brown with gold and blue micro glitters.  I couldn't wait to try it.

Yeah, turns out it, it's not so glittery.  Although it is very shiny.  The pictures show two coats with top coat.

I have to tell you, as little as the glitter/shimmer is showing up in the pictures, it's a lot more than it showed up in real life.  The formula was ok.  As I said, this is two coats, but obviously I needed three.  There was a bit of balding, so the second coat was pretty thick.  It really is a pretty brown and I've always wanted a perfect chocolate color, so it's a success that way.  I'm really just disappointed that the glitter didn't really show.  I was expecting more I guess.

TIOT: Zoya Ibiza & Finger Paints Symmetrical Symphony

Hey Y'all!!  How's your Tuesday going?  We're getting ready to hunker down for some more serious weather here...or as my buddy, Inky Whiskers, likes to call me...I'm about to be a Southern Fried Popsicle!!  As any of you that live in the US knows, we Georgians don't do winter weather very well.  And this storm is supposed to be even worse!  We're expecting 1/2 to 1/3 inch of ice, then 4 to 6 inches of snow, then another inch of ice.  Plus power outages.  Yay.  So if I'm missing the next day or two, it's cause I'm freezing in the dark!!

But for today, so far, I'm semi warm and illuminated.  And I have my TIOT mani for you!  Today I have Zoya Ibiza and Finger Paints Symmetrical Symphony:

Zoya Ibiza is a dark midnight blue with a very subtle dark blue shimmer.  The pictures show two coats.  This is such a gorgeous dark blue!!  And it looks so deep on the nail.  I love how the shimmer, or frost, is subtle in Ibiza.  The formula was fantastic, despite being frozen during delivery.  My one and only complaint is that this Southern blogger has no earthly idea how to say it's name!!

I then applied one coat of Finger Paints Symmetrical Symphony (and top coat):

Symmetrical Symphony is a clear-ish/milky base with blue and copper iridescent flakies.  The pictures show just one coat, so it really is packed.  Formula for SS was great, I didn't have to hunt and place flakies.  SS is from the Finger Paints Holiday 2013 collection, which for some reason didn't reach my Sally's until late January.  My one concern about this polish is how it will age.  I bought the original flakies from Finger Paints....how long ago?  2012?  2011?  Anyway, the base for the original flakies has turned an ugly yellow color.  I have hundreds of polishes and this is the only set that has ever turned on me.  Oh well, I guess time will tell.

I did use a top coat with this because I think a top coat just makes any glitter or flaky shine and sparkle more.

TIOT: OPI DS Extravagance

Hey Y'all!!  It's Try It On Tuesday!  Ok, so I stink and am a day behind.  I'm having an off couple of weeks, long story.  But hopefully it all will be over this week.  Fingers crossed.  Anyway, how about Way to Wear It Wednesday??  At least I'm getting to share this fabulous polish with you, even if it is a day late.  So for WTWIW (lol), I have OPI DS Extravagance:

OPI DS Extravagance is a dark berry colored polish with scattered micro holographic glitter.  And it's gorgeous!!

Pictures show two coats with top coat.  The formula was perfect,  nice even coverage, no balding or streaking.  Of course, so far, I've never met an OPI that didn't have great formula.

TIOT: Orly Cupcakes and Unicorns

Hey Y'all!!  Happy Tuesday!!  I hope y'all are staying nice and warm today.  Anyone else tired of the cold yet??  We started the day at 47 degrees and ever since the temperature is going down while the wind speed is going up.  I've had it!  I want Spring!!

But it is Tuesday and I do have an untried for you :)  Thanks to the fabulous Liz of A Mani Maniac, who sent me one of my biggest lemmings, Orly Cupcakes and Unicorns:

Ok, I know I say this a lot, but seriously y'all...photos do not do this polish justice.  You truly have to see it in person to see how fabulous it is!

Cupcakes and Unicorns is a light pink base with micro pink glitter and pink holographic bar glitter.  Pictures show two coats over OPI Vant to Bite Your Neck (a dark purple crème) with top coat.  The formula was great on this, though I wish there was a little more bar glitter.  And that would be my only con.  I didn't dig for the bar glitter.  This is a polish I would recommend storing upside down if you can, and if you can't, invert the bottle for about 15-30 minutes before you use it.  I think that will take care of the sparse bar glitter.

Now for someone who has owned black nail polish back when people didn't even know it existed, this is the girliest polish I own...and I LOVE IT!!

TIOT: Orly Sunglasses At Night

Hi Y'all!!  I've missed you!!  It's been so crazy around here!!  Last week we had temperatures in the single digits, then we had a pipe burst and went two days without water (thanks to the Bestie that let us take showers at her house!!)...anyway, I 'm back!!  And it's time for Try It On Tuesday!

And thanks to my fabulous friend Liz at A Mani Maniac who sent me the best present ever, I have a lemming that has been on my wish list for two years!!!  Not only did I receive two lemmings, she sent me the entire new Orly Cosmos collection!!

And even though I just got this, I figure I could use it for TIOT since I've wanted it for so long....take a gander at Orly Sunglasses At Night:

Photos do not do this polish justice at all!!!  It's beyond gorgeous!  In fact, we need a new word...scrumptiouslicious???  Fantabulousness???

Sunglasses At Night is a black jelly polish with dark, gunmetal (looking at least, may be due to the black jelly base) holographic bar glitter.  Pictures show two coats of Sunglasses At Night over two coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather and top coat.

I chose to layer it over black because, 1) it's easier to remove glitter polish when there is a base and, 2) I wanted it to be really dark.  But the formula was fabulous, typical Orly.  I didn't have to hunt and place the glitter since the polish had a ton.  Suffice it to say, I love it!!!  It lived up to all my dreams!

TIOT: Miss Kitty's Mee-yow

Hi Y'all!!  Are you staying warm?  I sure hope none of you had to go out this morning...these temperatures all over the east are ridiculous!!  We set a record here last night of 5 degrees with wind chills in the negatives.  Um, nope.  Sorry, I can't do Tuesday, too cold.  I'm sending warm wishes to all y'all that have it cold!!

So it's time for TIOT: Try It On Tuesday!!  And not only has this pretty polish been waiting patiently for me to try it, I thought it looked perfect for the weather we all seem to be experiencing.  Today I have Elixir Laquer Miss Kitty's Mee-yow:

Isn't she the perfect wintery blurple polish?  The pictures show three thin coats with top coat.

I love this polish!!  Application was great.  It is a bit thin, but three light coats and it was completely opaque.  And despite it being thin, it didn't flood my cuticles, but I was really careful while applying it.  This is my first, and so far, only Elixir Lacquer, but I doubt it will be my last.

I ordered this from Color 4 Nails using a gift certificate I won.  Nicole is the brain behind this brand.  Her polishes range from $6.00 to $7.50, but sadly, she's currently out of Miss Kitty's Mee-yow.  But hopefully she will have it again soon, because I think this is such a perfect winter (or spring, fall or summer) blurple.  The shimmery goodness is almost too much!

TIOT: Jade Psicodelica and Fascinio Violeta

Hey Y'all!!  Happy Thursday!!  Can you believe Thanksgiving and Chanukah are only a week away??  Where has the year gone?  I'm not ready!  From now until the end of February is always so incredibly busy...and I still feel lazy.  I'm just not ready.  Oh well...on to today's post!

I realize it's actually Thursday, but since I missed getting my post up on Tuesday I've decided to have a Try It On Thursday instead.  Besides these polishes are just too gorgeous to miss posting!!  I have two polishes for you today from Jade, a fabulous polish from Brazil.  First up is Psicodelica, a silver linear holographic:

 Isn't this incredible???  So much sparkle and color!!

 

Next up is Fascinio Violeta, a perfect purple linear holographic polish (and my favorite):

                                   
 And they look gorgeous inside too!!

The only light these don't sparkle under is fluorescent.  Any other light source and they are going to be fabulous!!

The formula on these was perfect!!  Smooth, perfect coverage, no balding or streaking.  Pictures show two coats WITH TOP COAT!  Yep, you read that right.  You can put a top coat on it for a longer wear time.  If you have natural nails OR acrylic nails, I strongly suggest wearing a top coat as a base coat (I used Seche Vite).  Linear holos need a smooth base to get that fabulous linear effect.

These are also reasonably priced.  I ordered the Psicodelica from Llarowe for $8.00.  Regular polishes are $5. 

Fascinio Violeta was ordered from Color4Nails for $6.50.
